Jack Hinson's One Man War

My rating 5 of 5 stars

Jack Hinson was a peaceful farmer claiming neutrality during the civil War. But when two of his sons were falsely accused of being Confederate spies and brutally executed, Jack's quest for vengeance made him into a deadly sniper against that union. With his custom made 50caliber rifle, he picked off more than 100 union soldiers at 300 and 600 yard distances.
This is a fascinating book. I could not believe that I had never heard of Jack Hinson! I highly recommended this book for anyone who loves history. The author did not try to glorify the war or the bloodshed, but portrayed it as the horrific and brutal thing that it was. But he also kept it very clean and readable.
